Byron Kim is the painter member of the Public Design Commission of the City of New York. His work is in public collections throughout the Unites States and has been exhibited in major museums and galleries in the United States, Europe and Korea, including the 1993 Whitney Biennial. In 2005, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego presented Byron's first retrospective exhibition, Threshold: Byron Kim 1990-2004, focusing on his significant body of paintings, and, in November, his solo exhibition, Oddly Flowing, will be held at Max Protetch Gallery in New York City. Byron has received numerous awards from institutions such as the National Endowment for the Arts and the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He studied at Yale University and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, where he is a board member.
