City Announces Agreement on Proposed New Legislation to License and Regulate PedicabsIf passed, the new law will give pedicab businesses a 60-day window to submit complete applications to DCA to register their businesses and pedicab vehicles. This 60-day window would expire after 18 months, and does not ever apply to applicants for pedicab driver licenses. Pedicabs must meet insurance and safety equipment requirements described in Local Law 19 of 2007 and pass a DCA inspection. Pedicab businesses and drivers should continue to check nyc.gov/consumers for updates, including when the new law will take effect and when license applications will be available.
