DCA Launches Five-Borough Business Education Tour with the City's Chambers of Commerce
Commissioner Menin will meet with business owners and key leaders to talk about the Small Business Relief Package, a set of reforms that aims to reduce the number and cost of business fines, increase transparency and fairness, and expand business outreach. DCA is committed to helping the small business community thrive and is an active member of the City's Small Business First initiative, an inter-agency effort to reduce regulatory burden on small businesses and improve services to immigrant populations.

Mayor de Blasio Signs Executive Order to Increase and Expand Living Wage
Effective immediately, the City’s living wage will increase to $13.13 per hour and cover thousands of workers at retailers and fast-food chains at City-backed projects. DCA will enforce the Living Wage.

DCA Releases New Report on Effectiveness of Financial Counseling at Social Service Organizations
Initial findings of Building Financial Counseling into Social Service Delivery: Research and Implementation Findings for Social Service Programs indicate that individuals in workforce development programs who received financial counseling were more financially stable and achieved better social service outcomes than comparison group clients who did not receive financial counseling.

  • Sensible Tobacco Enforcement: Retailers cannot redeem discounts on tobacco products, and cigarette retail dealers must post the Age Restriction and NYC/NYS Tax Stamp signs.
