Public Scoping Meeting on the proposed Riverside Center Project

Public Scoping Meeting on the proposed Western Rail Yard Project

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority ("MTA") and the City of New York City Planning Commission ("CPC"), as the co-lead environmental agencies, intend to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement ("EIS") for the proposed Western Rail Yard Project.

A public scoping meeting was held on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, 655 West 34th Street, Room 1A-03-05. The scoping meeting included both afternoon and evening sessions. The afternoon session was held between 2:00 and 5:00 PM. The evening session was held between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM, and will extend later, as needed, to accommodate all those who register to speak prior to 9:00PM. Verbal testimony was limited to three (3) minutes for each speaker. Written comments on the Draft Scope of Work were accepted at the meeting and will be accepted by the co-lead agencies until the close of business on Tuesday, October 14, 2008. On March 13, 2008 the Department of City Planning, on behalf of the City Planning Commission, held a public scoping meeting on the Draft Scope of Work for an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed 363-365 Bond Street Rezoning and Related Actions.  Comments on the Draft Scope of Work were accepted at the meeting and until March 24, 2008.

On September 3, 2008, the Final Scope of Work for the Draft EIS was issued.

Comments on the Draft Scope of Work were accepted at the meeting and for ten days following the meeting.

On March 11, 2008, the Final Scope of Work for the DEIS was issued.
