International Restaurant and Foodservice Show
New York City DEP mounted an exhibit at this year’s International Restaurant and Foodservice Show at the Jacob Javits Center from March 4 - 6. DEP works closely with many City businesses to ensure their management and operational practices are environmentally sound. Information available to the Show’s visitors and exhibitors included overviews of DEP pollution prevention and water conservation programs for City restaurants, owners and managers. Other helpful resources included:
- tips for properly maintaining grease traps to ensure grease stays out of the city sewer system;
- guidelines for restaurants to implement more environmentally friendly practices and lower their water and energy bills; and
- information on the high quality, safe, and healthy City water that is available directly from the tap in food service establishments.
DEP staff members were available to answer questions and provide information, as well as offer visitors a taste of New York City’s world-famous drinking water.
