Become a Provider

If you are a building owner and you are interested in becoming a service provider to the Department of Homeless Services, visit the Current RFPs section of this site or stop by the DHS Office of Contracts and Procurement to obtain a copy of the open-ended RFP for New and Replacement Capacity (33 Beaver Street, 13th Floor – Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm). You may also contact the Facility Planning and Development Department at (212) 361-8392.

The full application requirements are outlined in the RFP, but some of the key components are:

  • Demonstrated social service experience and administrative capacity;
  • A social service program description;
  • Evidence of site control;
  • Community notification;
  • Site and development description; and
  • Timeline for development.

All DHS residences are operated under the rules and regulations of the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) — Part 900 (Families) and Part 491 (Adults).
