If you are an inmate's attorney, physician/clinician or clergyperson, you
can request that calls from inmates to the number(s) you designate will not be
recorded. You must submit the request on letterhead; it can be faxed as
described below.
Attorneys
In order for a
telephone number to be placed on the Do Not Record list, it must be a 10-digit
number consisting of a valid U.S. area code, exchange and 4 digits. If you are
registered with the NYS Office of Court Administration and are in good standing, and if your primary
phone number on record with OCA is in the correct 10-digit format,
it has already been added to the Do Not Record List and you do not need to take any
further action.
If you are not registered with the NYS Office of Court
Administration, or if your registered number is not
in the correct format, or if you want to add other numbers to the Do
Not Record
List, submit your request on letterhead with the following information:
-
Your OCA number, or a copy of your
current Certificate of Good Standing, or a printout from your state's court
administration website indicating that you are in good standing.
-
Telephone number(s) you want to exempt from recording
-
A fax number or e-mail address we can use
to contact you when your request has been reviewed.
Send your request to the DOC Legal
Division.
