DYCD Skate Day 2007
Hundreds of young participants in New York City’s Out-of-School Time (OST), Beacon Community Centers and Teen ACTION initiatives take to the ice at The Pond at Bryant Park for “DYCD Skate Day.”  The Pond donated rink time and skate rentals.  Skate Day is a fun reminder that DYCD programs operate afterschool, throughout the summer, and during school holidays, including the winter break.

DYCD Hosts the Annual Conference of the Association of New York State Youth Bureaus
For the first time, New York City hosted the Annual Conference of the Association of New York State Youth Bureaus (ANYSYB) on October 17-19 at the New York City Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge; DYCD is the City’s Youth Bureau. The theme of this year’s event was“Our Youth: Fulfilling New York’s Promise,” in recognition of the fact that New York City was named one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People by America’s Promise. More than 500 professionals in youth-serving organizations from across the state explored strategies for fulfilling our promise to young people by attending a broad array of exceptional workshops and listening to national and regional experts.
