Adult Literacy Program

New York City Adult Literacy Initiative

DYCD is a partner in the New York City Adult Literacy Initiative (NYCALI), the City’s system for
providing literacy and language services for adults and out-of-school youth. This highly coordinated
network of community-based organizations (CBOs), public schools, CUNY campuses and public
library sites targets federal, state and local funds to communities with the greatest need for services.
Each year, over 12,000 New Yorkers attend classes at DYCD-funded CBOs located throughout New
York City.

To find a program near you, please call 1-800-246-4646.
