Resources for CBOs

DYCD is only as strong as the community-based organizations it contracts with. We provide a variety of services designed to help agencies build capacity, establish sound financial practices, and take advantage of available resources:

CBO Financial Services - Fiscal management tools for DYCD-funded CBOs.

Contracting Opportunities - RFPs - Learn more about available funding sources.

Discretionary Awards - DYCD is responsible for administering funds allocated by the New York City Council to community-based organizations through human services contracts. Any organization applying to the New York City Council to receive a discretionary award greater than $10,000 must complete a Prequalification Application.

Federal Stimulus - On February 17, 2009, President Barack Obama signed into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). The Act is intended to retain existing jobs and create new ones and provide fiscal relief to State and local governments and low-income and vulnerable households. DYCD is the recipient of ARRA Workforce Investment Act (WIA) youth and Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funds.

Transportation Program  - Free subway transportation for eligible youth organizations.

Equal Opportunity Workforce Investment Act unit - The EO-WIA  unit is responsible for ensuring that each WIA grant applicant carries out the Methods of Administration under the Workforce Investment Act.

The New York City Youth Guide to Summer Fun  - The guide is a broad citywide calendar of family-oriented events and resources published annually by DYCD .
