On Sunday, October 17, 2004, the Throggs Neck 9/11 Memorial was dedicated. The Memorial honors those residents of the Throggs Neck community who perished on September 11, 2001. Included in those honored were the following members: Captain Frederick J. Ill, Jr., L-2, Lt. Raymond E. Murphy, L-16, Lt. Thomas G. O’Hagan, B-4, FF Peter A. Bielfeld, L-46, FF Michael Lynch and FF Dennis Mulligan, L-2. All are welcome to visit the memorial, which is located adjacent to the quarters of Engine Company 72.
