October 1, 2005 On Monday September 19, Commissioner Katherine Oliver presented a mayoral proclamation declaring the week of September 19-23 to be Independent Film Week in New York City, at the 27th annual IFP Market and Conference. The Conference provided incentives for New Yorkers to take advantage of the rich cultural opportunities offered by the presence of our city’s thriving independent film community, and a setting in which New York’s talented filmmakers collaborated on future work.
