Preventing Falls

Falls can cause moderate to severe injuries that reduce both mobility and independence and increase the risk of premature death. Indeed, 10% of fatal falls for older adults occur in hospitals.

Long term care residents, who are often frail and have limited mobility, have a higher risk of falling. HHC has an aggressive program to prevent and reduce falls among all its long term care residents.
