Maintenance
CLOTH RAGS
Prevent waste by using reusable cloth rags and sponges.
Click on the cloth rags for more information.
SOLVENTS
Oil-based paint thinners, most paint strippers, graffiti removers,
and even kitchen degreasers contain flammable and toxic solvents.
Many parts washers also use solvents. Whenever feasible, reduce
your use of solvents and switch to less harmful alternatives.
Click on the turpentine cans for more information.
PESTICIDES
Since pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers are poisonous,
it is important to limit their use.
Click on the bottles with skull-and-crossbone labels for
more information.
PAINT
Buy the right amount of paint for the job. Purchase paints that
are specially formulated to reduce volatile organic compounds.
Consider purchasing recycled paint. If your facility can’t
use leftover paint, consider donating it.
