Summary: Local Law 33 of 2010
amended the NYC Recycling Law to require DSNY to establish a pilot voluntary paint stewardship program under which manufacturers, distributors, and retail establishments that sell architectural paint set up a collection or other reclamation system to collect architectural paint for reuse, recycling or environmentally sound disposal. DSNY
is required to provide guidance for and promotion of the program.
