Established by Section 192(e) of the New York City Charter, the Office of Environmental Coordination (OEC) assists City agencies in carrying out their environmental review responsibilities and is the repository for all City Environmental Quality Review (CEQR) documents. OEC also serves as the City’s liaison to state and federal agencies on environmental matters and advises the Mayor on matters of environmental policy. Pursuant to Executive Order 97 of 2006, OEC is also responsible for the implementation of the City’s Green Building Standards Law, Local Law 86 of 2005.
