Patrons are invited to order prints of these classic images from the New York City Municipal Archives photographic collections, please use the form below to order prints.

PLEASE NOTE:

• Photographic prints are provided for personal use only and may not be transferred to another individual or institution without permission (home decoration and prints as gifts are permissible). If you wish to publish or re-duplicate a photograph in any way, or use it for any commercial purpose, you must obtain PERMISSION and pay the appropriate license fee.
  
• Payment must be submitted with all photograph orders. Make check payable to NYC DEPARTMENT OF RECORDS. Allow 3 to 4 weeks for completion of order.
• All prints are shipped via US Mail in flat cardboard mailers stamped "Photo Do Not Bend."

THE MUNICIPAL ARCHIVES OFFERS TWO TYPES OF BLACK-AND-WHITE GELATIN-SILVER PRINTS:

• High-quality FIBER PRINTS are printed on a heavyweight cotton paper and are the standard for exhibition purposes. They have a greater appearance of depth and a broader tonal range. Each one must be custom printed by hand (from the vintage negative when available) and they are fixed and washed to archival standards. Fiber prints make the best choice for home decoration or gift purposes.
  
• A lower-cost alternative to a fiber print, RC (Resin-Coated) PRINTS are coated with a glossy plastic laminate that enables ease of processing. Suitable for study and/or reproduction purposes, they generally lack the full tonal range and richness of a fiber print. Please note that RC prints are inherently non-archival, and (as a result) may yellow more rapidly over time.
  
  NB: We scanned some of the photographs in our online gallery from vintage prints that had yellowed with age, and they appear with a sepia cast. All reproduction prints are true black and white prints (color photographs are noted in the remarks section). Individuals desiring special services (color transparencies, high resolution scans, etc.) should contact the Municipal Archives before ordering.

Fiber (higher-quality black & white images):

• $80.00 per print, 8 x 10 inches
  
• $110.00 per print, 11 x 14 inches
  
• $175.00 per print, 16 x 20 inches

Resin-Coated or Digital Equivalent Print (black & white or color):

• $45.00 per print 8 x 10 inches
  
• $60.00 per print 11 x 14 inches
  
• $120.00 per print, 16 x 20 inches

High-Res Digital File (50MB unless specified):

• $40.00 per file

SHIPPING

Domestic Shipping (customer may choose to pick up for no fee):

• Up to six 8x10 or 11x14 prints $8; for the next six an additional $8
  
• Up to six 16x20 prints (or for any six print combination of 16x20 and 8x10 or 11x14) $20 per order. Additional prints add $2 each.
  
• Digital Files (will require permission form and usage fee): $5 disk fee per order and $4 shipping (email is no extra charge but a 5mb file size limit).

International Shipping

• $30 flat fee up to 6 prints
  
• $40 flat fee for 16x20s.
