The Brownstone

After graduating from FIT and working in the fashion industry for several years, Princess Jenkins opened The Brownstone in 1998.  Following The Brownstone’s move to a prime location on 125th street in Harlem, Ms. Jenkins was ready to branch out even further.   Her plans included enhancing her e-commerce website, launching a mail order catalogue, and developing packaging and marketing plans for her cosmetics line.

Ms. Jenkins’ goals were ambitious, and in order to see them through she needed to secure additional capital. 

The NYC Business Solutions, Upper Manhattan Center assisted Ms. Jenkins with developing her loan application, and connected her with the most appropriate lender for her needs. 

Ms. Jenkins was awarded a $90,000 loan through our assistance.  She has used the loan to launch her mail order catalogue and make the website enhancements.  Ms. Jenkins expects the Brownstone’s sales to rise 50% as a result of these improvements.
