FastTrac helps entrepreneurs hone the skills needed to start, manage
and grow a successful business. The City of New York has partnered with the
Kauffman Foundation to provide two no cost FastTrac courses to New Yorkers:
FastTrac NewVenture and FastTrac GrowthVenture.
FastTrac NewVenture Do you have a great
business idea? Do you want to launch your own business? Then FastTrac NewVenture
can provide you with the tools to develop and complete your business launch.
FastTrac NewVenture will teach you how to identify and reach your
target market, set financial goals and build an effective team. At the end of
the program you will have a fully developed business plan.
FastTrac NewVenture
consists of:
A 6-day intensive boot camp (2 full days a week over 3 weeks) to help you
determine the viability of your business plan including all steps necessary to
launch
One-on-one assistance from experienced entrepreneurs who will help you
review ideas, assignments, and business plan
Interactive presentations from successful entrepreneurs who can share
their experience and insight on how to launch your own successful business
Wrap-up session to formally present your final business plan for maximum
feedback
Connection to services that will help you start your business, including
NYC Business Express to learn
about the licenses and permits required for your business and NYC Business Solutions to get loan
facilitation, legal and hiring assistance
Who can apply for FastTrac NewVenture? You are eligible for
FastTrac NewVenture if you are a New York City resident
with:
A well thought-out idea for a new business
Two years of work experience
Access to a computer to complete assignments
Commitment to attend all sessions (approximately 40 classroom hours) and
complete prep work
When is FastTrac
NewVenture offered? FastTrac NewVenture is offered on a monthly
basis.

Future FastTrac
NewVentures: Courses are offered on a monthly basis. New course
schedules and applications are made available once the current application is
closed. Please check back after the deadline for upcoming course dates.
How do you apply? Please complete and submit the online application only once to be considered
for the FastTrac NewVenture course beginning on January 4th.

FastTrac
GrowthVenture Do you need guidance on how to sustain or grow your
business in the current economic climate? Are you interested in reviewing your
business model? Then FastTrac GrowthVenture can prepare you with the tools and
support to revise your business plan.
FastTrac GrowthVenture will teach you how to reshape your existing business.
At the end of the program, you will have updated your business plan for
strategic growth.
FastTrac GrowthVenture consists of:
An 8-session classroom training held once a week over 8 weeks or twice a
week over 4 weeks (4-hours per session)
One-on-one assistance from experienced entrepreneurs who will help you
review ideas, assignments, and business plan
Interactive presentations from successful entrepreneurs who can share
their experience
Connection to services that will help you operate and expand your
business, including NYC Business
Express to learn about the licenses and permits required for your business
and NYC Business Solutions to get
loan facilitation, legal, hiring and training assistance, and learn about
incentives you may be eligible for
Who can apply for FastTrac GrowthVenture? Growth Venture
programs are offered to operating small businesses that have demonstrated market
potential and financial stability. You are eligible for FastTrac GrowthVenture
if you are a New York City resident with:
A business that has been in operation for one or more years
A well thought out argument for how FastTrac GrowthVenture will benefit
your company
Access to a computer to complete assignments
Commitment to attend all sessions (approximately 30 classroom hours)
and complete prep work
When and where is FastTrac GrowthVenture offered? FastTrac
GrowthVenture is offered on a monthly basis. The next two GrowthVenture courses
will start in January.
One course will specialize in manufacturing and technology companies. The
second course is open to small businesses that have been in operation for at
least one year, have achieved sales targets, and have demonstrated market
potential.
