The Design for a New York City Workforce Information System report, prepared by the John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development at Rutgers University, identifies publicly available sources of information related to New York City’s workforce and economy, inventories users’ needs for that information, and recommends a design for its collection and dissemination Citywide.

In spring 2007, the Seedco Policy Center was procured by the WIB to conduct an initial scan of the fastest growing sectors in New York City’s economy. The results of this initial review will provide the WIB and the NYC Department of Small Business Services context for choosing which sectors to focus on for a potential sectorally-focused Workforce1 Career Center.

The Addressing New York City’s Care Gap report, prepared by the Paraprofessional Health Institute (PHI), focuses on the short-term and long-term policy solutions required to meet the demand for new, qualified, and dedicated workers who will provide essential care for elders and people with disabilities in New York City.
