The New York City Sports Commission

Commissioner Kenneth J. Podziba
Commissioner
Podziba

Dear Friends:

The New York City Sports Commission was created in 1986 to foster the development of amateur and professional sports throughout New York City. The Sports Commission is committed to attracting and creating athletic events for the purpose of enhancing the City's economy and providing our residents and visitors with the most exciting array of spectator and participatory sports in the nation.

I am delighted that we have integrated with NYC & Company, the official marketing, tourism and partnership organization for the City of New York. This brings the City’s sports and event marketing functions under one roof to streamline and maximize tourism, marketing and partnership opportunities throughout the five boroughs. Our new website www.nycgo.com/sports, is your source for all of the great spectator and participatory sports action that you have come to expect from the Sports Commission. At the beginning of December, you will also be able to access information regarding sports and recreation options for people with disabilities through an online version of the Sports Commission’s highly acclaimed resource guide Exercise Your Ability: The Ultimate Guide to Sports and Recreation for People with Disabilities.

I am honored to have the opportunity to serve all New Yorkers. It is a privilege to continue the fine tradition of sports in New York City and to uphold the title of "Sports Capital of the World."

        Sincerely,
    Kenneth J. Podziba
