Parliamentary Lions Visit NYC |
In 1983, two members of the British Parliament founded the Parliamentary Lions Rugby Team to “foster international relations development and friendship through parliamentary rugby.” The Lions have played against many nations, including the Australian and South African Parliaments, and the Japanese Diet. On their recent visit to New York City, to show their solidarity with New Yorkers, the Lions took on our very own New York Athletic Club rugby team. This was especially meaningful because the NYAC lost a number of their standout rugby players on September 11th.
