Budapest students start IEEP 2005-2006, working with New York City students on
a revised and improved internet-based forum and with a new curriculum titled “My
Dream Park.”
June Budapest students receive “Certificates of Excellence” from
the New York City Sister City Program to recognize their participation in the
2004-2005 pilot year of IEEP.
May IEEP Budapest students from Primary Music School at Bakats Square conclude
the pilot year of IEEP by submitting their completed project for the “Cities
Around the World” curriculum. Budapest students created and planned a
five day tour to New York City (one day for each borough) through a virtual
itinerary.
April 28, 2005 The Sister City Program organizes a visit from a Fulbright
Scholar, Mr. Gyorgy Konczei, from Hungary to visit and give a presentation about
Budapest to the IEEP students at Brownsville Computer Resource Center. Mr. Konczei’s
visit brings a unique, personal perspective of our sister cities to the New
York City students. Students from Brownsville’s media club filmed the
visit and a video is available for viewing.
This visit is made possible through collaboration with Metro International’s
“Global Classroom Scholar Program.” Metro International is a New
York-based organization that provides enrichment activities for international
Fulbright Scholars who are studying and/or conducting research in New York City
universities.
