While the Dominican Community worldwide encounters many challenges, these needs can be met if the Cities of Santo Domingo and New York work as a team to conquer the obstacles with which they are faced. Using the similarities of these two communities is the most effective way of targeting and meeting the needs of the Dominican population worldwide. Together the Dominican Republic Consulate and Sister City Program can use their resources to reinforce and expand the formidable alliance between Santo Domingo and New York City which will assure a lasting impact in our global community.
