Mayor Bloomberg, Brooklyn District Attorney Hynes and Police Commissioner Kelly Announce Indictment in Florida-to-New York Illegal Gun Trafficking Ring
Mayor Bloomberg, Kings County District Attorney Hynes and Police Commissioner Kelly today announced the indictment of two individuals charged with running a Florida-to-New York gun trafficking ring. The 105-count indictment charges Watson Joachin, 27, and Ryan Woodard, 22, with selling dozens of guns to undercover officers during a three-month investigation.

Illegal conversions Citywide Campaign on Dangers of Illegal Conversions
On Monday, November 15, the Department of Buildings (DOB) teamed up with the FDNY to launch a Citywide campaign to educate New Yorkers about the dangers of illegal conversions and how to stay safe. Over the next three weeks, inspectors and volunteers will distribute 50,000 flyers in all five boroughs.

The Department of City Planning has completed 100 area-wide rezonings covering one-fifth of the City and over 8,400 blocks. These rezonings are a "smart growth" blueprint which will shape the city for decades to come by channeling growth to transit-rich areas while protecting the scale of low-density neighborhoods.
