The City announced that a new Office of the City Clerk, home of the Manhattan Marriage Bureau, will open January 12th. The new facility at 141 Worth Street is part of a complete physical and operational overhaul of how NY’ers and visitors receive marriage licenses and other documents.

New York City urges parents of children who turned four years old
between January 1 and December 31, 2008, to take advantage of free
universal pre-kindergarten seats that are still available in public
schools and community based organizations. You have until January
30 to enroll children for school year 2008-2009.

At midnight on February 17, 2009, all full-power television stations
in the United States will stop broadcasting in analog and switch
to 100% digital broadcasting. If you have an analog TV, unless
you hook up a converter box it will no longer work as of February
17, 2009.

Notify NYC is a new service designed to enhance the delivery of emergency
information to the public. During the pilot phase, the City will
test different kinds of public messaging, including email, text
messaging and telephone, to determine the best way to launch a
Citywide program. There are currently four communities involved
in the pilot.
