Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg today appointed Kevin Sheekey
as Special Advisor to the Mayor. As Special Advisor, Sheekey will
advise the Mayor in a wide range of areas and will oversee special
initiatives undertaken at the Mayor's direction.

of the Nation's Capitol, having served both Senator Daniel Patrick
Moynihan (D-NY) and Representative James H. Scheuer (D-Queens). He
also was the Deputy Campaign Manager of Senator Moynihan's successful
1994 re-election bid. He joined Bloomberg LP in 1997 where he directed
intergovernmental affairs and advised on public affairs. He left the
company to join the Bloomberg for Mayor campaign. A native of Washington,
DC, Kevin and his wife Robin became the parents of twins, Dillon and
Samantha, in September.
