MAYOR MICHAEL R. BLOOMBERG APPOINTS
KEVIN SHEEKEY AS SPECIAL ADVISOR TO THE MAYOR

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg today appointed Kevin Sheekey as Special Advisor to the Mayor. As Special Advisor, Sheekey will advise the Mayor in a wide range of areas and will oversee special initiatives undertaken at the Mayor's direction.

"Kevin has been a trusted advisor to me for the last five years, serving in a number
of senior capacities both at Bloomberg LP and on my campaign," Mayor Bloomberg said.
"His knowledge of politics and policy both in Washington and in New York will be invaluable as we move our agenda forward. Kevin has great judgment and great ideas and I am very happy he is joining the team at City Hall."

Kevin Sheekey has the distinction of being Chief of Staff to legislators on both sides
of the Nation's Capitol, having served both Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-NY) and Representative James H. Scheuer (D-Queens). He also was the Deputy Campaign Manager of Senator Moynihan's successful 1994 re-election bid. He joined Bloomberg LP in 1997 where he directed intergovernmental affairs and advised on public affairs. He left the company to join the Bloomberg for Mayor campaign. A native of Washington, DC, Kevin and his wife Robin became the parents of twins, Dillon and Samantha, in September.
