MulchFest MulchFest
Bring your holiday tree to a designated City park to be recycled into mulch that will nourish plantings across the City. Remember to remove all lights and ornaments before bringing the tree to a MulchFest site. You are also invited to bring bags to take advantage of the free mulch at selected sites. Visit the Web site for the complete list of locations. The Fest will occur on January 10 and 11 in all five boroughs.

HOPE 2009


HOPE 2009
On January 26, 2009, the NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS) will conduct the Homeless Outreach Population Estimate (HOPE). DHS need thousands of volunteers to canvass parks, subways, and other public spaces to count the number of people living unsheltered in the City.
